About Loop Cowboy
-
Loop Cowboy is the live music project of British singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ben Watling, based in Zermatt, Switzerland.
-
He has performed across the UK and Europe, USA, Canada, Iceland, Africa & the Indian Ocean, both with his own live looping show and as part of other musical projects.
In the Alps, he has held residencies at some of the best-known après-ski venues, building a reputation for performances that are fun, unforgetable, warm, and never quite the same twice.
-
The first version of Ben’s loop set began back in 2012, with a guitar, a loop pedal, beatboxing, and a trombone. He would build the music piece by piece in front of an audience, layering sounds live.
The cowboy part came later.
After a solo trip along Route 66, driving a Mustang through the American desert, he met real cowboys along the way, and came home with his infamous hat…
The cowboy became a symbol of independence, adventure and doing things differently.
A lone ranger musician, following his own sound rather than fitting neatly into one genre.
